Harpenden Family Bathroom Fitting

Before work started on this bathroom, the customer was provided with a floor plan and design visualisations. This is all part of the bathroom design and installation service TradesPro provide.

Below, you can view the initial designs. Then videos, and photos of the completed work.

In the second part of a three-Bathroom renovation project, The en-suite was the first room to be refurbished. This is the Family Bathroom.
The room has fully stripped some walls back to bare brick, which was then dot and dabbed with new moisture-proof plasterboard, and the shower area was boarded with a tile backer board.

The main challenge with this room was a structural steel beam that spans from one side of the room to the other, causing a problem with routing the wet room shower waste as it could only go over the steal beam, meaning the floor would have to be raised in the wet room area and ruining the simple flowing design.

TradesPro solved this by routing the waste in the opposite direction and connecting it to the soil pipe in the cloakroom below that we were also renovating.

Wall tiles are cracked glazed wany edged metro tiles, extra care must be taken when using a cracked glaze tile as adhesive, grout, and even pencil marks can get into the cracks. To reduce the risk of this, all tiles are sealed before fitting.

To the left, you can see the bathroom before work started and that it was a poor use of what is a good size space. The floor tiles had been fitted incorrectly and were cracking. Even though it hadn’t been fitted a long time ago, it looks dated and hadn’t been installed to achieve longevity, something that we strive for at TradesPro.
